Brief History 1999 to 2000 |

October 1999 Barnabas and Twirl team up to create a website hosting self authored rom reviews, roms, emulators and a few other extras. First ideas put forward. No name for the site yet. November 1999 Signed up for our first webste host at Geocities. First test page opened up at http://www.geocities.com/segarom36 Even more ideas put forward. Still no name for the site. Early December 1999 The big plan was put forward by Barnabas. Ideas for the name of the site pouring in out of control: Rom Review Centre Rom storm: reviews and emulators Romulation Review Central Emulation Analysis Finally, using the words Emulation Analysis, a compounding of Emun-alysis was created. We were now ready to take on the internet. The first site at Geocities was opened up at http://www.geocities.com The first page was made up. Mid December 1999 Many rom reviews were written. Alot of text for the website was typed up. Page layout and design were still being planned. Opened up multiple Geocities websites to host all reviews, rom reviews and emulators. Late December 1999 Still working on site. First attempts at trying to drive traffic to the site. Many more idea put forward. Early 2000 Many parts of the website uploaded. Emulators uploaded. Many rom reviews written. Debut appearances on the Top 25 and Top 100. First rom reviews uploaded. Ideas for Cheats n Tips and Webring. Mid 2000 Site still being produced. Debut appearance on the Top 50. Signed up at Fortunecity to host Genesis and Snes roms. Ideas for Emunalysis Shopping Centre. New rom review design, so they were all re-uploaded. Late 2000 Emunalysis Shopping Centre cancelled. Fortunecity began deleting all roms over 1 megabyte big, so we uploaded them again only to have them deleted again. Site still being produced, many pages incomplete and many dead links. Search engine and search directory submissions began. January 2001 Uploaded roms at http://www.stas.net to allow roms to be downloaded from rom reviews. All rom reviews re-uploaded again. Site still being produced. Production slowed down heavily. Webring and Cheats n Tips cancelled. February 2001 Emunalysis at Geocities was not working out. A time of re-planning began. March 2001 Plans to move Emunalysis to Topcities. Fortunecity cut us off. All roms cancelled. April 2001 Site re-development began, implementing all new plans. Whole site was moved from Geocities to Topcities at http://emunalysis.topcities.com. The whole website for the very first time was complete, coupled with a new sense, attitude and direction, we knew where we were going. Operation Yahoo! begins to submit Emunalysis to Yahoo! No response from Yahoo! May 2001 Site submitted to a huge handful of search engines. Emunalysis gets accepted into it's first search directory, Open Here. June 2001 Our Bannerexchange of My Computer closes down. Coolboard closes down too. Many rom reviews wrtten. July 2001 Archving of news begins. August 2001 Emunalysis gets accepted into the OpenDirectory. September 2001 Many rom reviews wrtten. October 2001 Emunalysis break. No work done on the site. November 2001 Emunalysis finally get accepted into Yahoo! |
