Sega Master System ~ Alex Kidd: the Lost Stars Review |
Overview Alex Kidd and the Lost Stars, you might think it will have a direct ressembelence from Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Nope! Maybe the smallest bit, but not much by far! Gameplay Simple. You make it to the other side of the level to the exit. Here Alex Kidd can only jump. Where are his martial arts skills? Anyways, you jump over any object moving and collect stars floating onscreen to replenish time. There is a time limit on each level. Time runs out, game over! This is purely ridiculous. Along each level, there are funny little moving objects that don't seem to be harmful. There's cute little dogs, with letters coming out of their mouths, trams and flying taxis. Touch them in anyway, then Alex Kidd will scream like a hopeless little girl and you lose time. This is unbelievable! Absolute trash! But on the other hand, it's challenging. And it is sort of fun jumping through all those platforms. 3.5 out of 10 Graphics Colours galore! The graphics are completely sick and makes you want to throw up. Sega have gone completely overboard in graphics design. Totally babyish. Alex Kidd looks pathetic. The whole thing looks more like Alex Kidd's spewed up breakfast all over the screen! 1 out of 5 Sound The music is under 5 years olds! Sure it suits the overall gameplay and graphics, but I rekon it's all way too childish. There aren't many sound effects, and even those are dreadful. 1.5 out of 5 Game Design It takes quite a while to get through a level. This is a jumping only game, but you'll mostly only be jumping over gaps to prevent going off the screen. Pretty creative obsticles to use and jump over, like tram rails and finger pointing machines. 2 out 5 Longevity You're going to have a tough time clocking this game, but it's just too hard without a save or password option. Gameplay is too limited, with jumping only. 1.5 out of 5 Conclusion The bottom line: this game is gay. It looks gay, sounds gay, plays gay. I think I've said it all. |
