Super Nintendo - Gundam Wing, Endless Duel Review |
Gundam Wing is a Japanese cartoon, which features robots made out of Gundaminium. They are immensely popular in Japan and this is fighting game is based on the Gundam Wing robots and pilots. The game itself is suppose to be in Japanese but the only Japanese is in the fighter's dialogue. Gameplay 9.5/10 In this game you control one of the Gundam robots and fight another robot. Gameplay is fast and furious and you have a variety of moves dashes and even the ability to Super Jump out of the screen. Every fighter even has at least one super move but attempting an all out button frenzy will get you no where. You have to unleash combo attacks and second guess the opponent to make sure your attacks go well. Given even half a second, the enemy fighter will be able to block your moves then unleash a special move to smack you across instead. The only downside is probably the fact that the moves are sometimes hard to execute and maybe it is a little too fast and furious. Character design: 5/5 In this game, all fighters handle differently. No one fighter is vastly superior to another although some may argue the Wing Zero is the best. Being all different, there is a fighter for everyone. If you like slow long range bombardment try Heavy arms. Quick and agile then the Death Scyther is for you with its teleportation move and if you like balance the Wing will do nicely. Graphics: 5/5 If its one thing that is not lacking is the smooth graphics and bloodless violence. The full super moves of some characters are especially cool to watch. Replayability and Longevity: 5/5 A true classic. The Endless duel will probably last a long while and you will not want to throw it away or delete it. For: Fast smooth action with a variety moves, extremely advanced for the SNES. Against: Sometimes too fast. |
