Super Nintendo - Megaman X2 Review |
Megaman X is a new series about Megaman. It is not known whether Megaman from the Megaman series is related to Megaman X from the Megaman X series. It is hinted at at times and some sources say yes while others say no. I personally believe no because Megaman X is a darker series where friends die and allies become bad where as Megaman seems a bit happier. So far only one character, Dr. Light is seen in both series and no mention of Megaman's pal Rush. So X is probably set in an alternate Universe with possibly similar characters in the past. This is not Megaman 11 by the way (at least I do not think so, Capcom may release some Megaman game which bridges Megaman and Megaman X together). A small plot note. In X2 you have to fight for Zero's parts as well. Zero sacrificed himself in Megaman X if you have played the game. If you get all the parts you see Zero destroying a silver copy of himself. Gameplay: 8/10 Like Megaman X, Megaman X2 has excellent handling although once again, the jumping could be a little higher. This time, Megaman X can get an air dash modification which allows you to dash in the air. Graphics: 5/5 Excellent animation, slightly better than the first Megaman X. Sound and Music: 5/5 The music is pretty cool in Megaman X2 as well. Game Design: 1/5 This is difficult again. Its so frustrating. Fortunately I obtained the secret Dragon Punch which helped a lot! Longevity or Replayability: 1.5/5 You will be grasping at straws when it comes to playing X2. The levels tend to be as hard or a little harder then Megaman X so watch out. Do not let the difficulty phase you though because the game is really cool. For: Good gameplay, cool music, good graphics. Against: Once again, very hard levels extremely difficult to get some power-ups. |
